Abstract

|
Filbert fruits originated in Korea were collected and investigated of their characteristics.
The collected filberts were Nantiyip-Gaeamnamu (Corylus heterophylla Fisch), Mul-Gaeamnamu (C. sieboldiana var. mandshurica Schneider), Byungmul-Gaeamnamu, (C. sieboldiana var. brevirostris Schneider) Cham-Gaeamnamu (C. sieboldiana Blume) and Gaeamnamu (C. heterophylea var. Thunbergii Blume).
It was found that Nantiyip-Gaeamnamu was a prevailing filbert in this country, and that fruits collected in Gyunggi-Do were superior to the others.
Nantiyip-gaeamnamu filbert was the most recommendable variety in respect of fruit-seed ratio, fat content, calorie and of ecological aspects for cultivation.
